Today is July 12th, 2010
This passed Friday, we went on a sponsored event. It was the dinner dance cruise. and it was so much fun. They had the best mashed potatoes of my life. Seriously. They were the best mashed potatoes I have ever had in my entire life. Along with the heaping pile of potatoes on my plate. I also had salmon, some pasta, and salad. After we ate, we went outside on the top of the deck (or whatever the terminology is for the top of the boat). The view was a amazing. Cruising on the Hudson in a huge boat with the view of the skyline of Manhattan. Now that's the life. I saw the Statue of Liberty up close which was breathtaking. Never thought that day would come.
At work today, Jen talked to us about our fashion field trip tomorrow. She is taking us to some of our clients' offices and then we are going on a tour bus around the city. I would love to work for Jen someday; she is an amazing person.
Wednesday we are going to see a movie at the Hudson, and Thursday there is a Sosume event (one of our clients) which I'm pretty excited for. This weekend we are going to D.C. for night. I'm expecting it to be pretty boring, but I'm excited to see the White House.
Tonight, Hannah and I went to a coffee shoppe around the corner called Gregory's coffee. We brought our books (I'm reading Love the One You're With), I wrote a couple postcards, and attempted to use the internet to blog, although I didn't have the password and was too lazy to get up and ask for it. Hannah makes me laugh so much. I'm pretty sure we'll be friends forever. Her porn imitations ("Oh God!) and just the random things she says makes being her friend worthwhile. Like, when Jess told us about a week of Yoga for 1$, Hannah goes "They must be Asian" or when we asked her what a communist was, she said, "somebody who wants equality for everyone" love her.
I bought my plane ticket home today. I never thought it would be so depressing. I don't want to leave. I love it here. NYC stole my heart. I mean, don't get me wrong, I miss my bean and cheese burritos, Oreganos, oh yeah and my family and friends. But I never thought I would fall in love with this place. Even the random awful smells in the street and unsanitary subways don't make me wanna leave.
I'm getting tired, running out of ideas, and Sarah is trying to sleep.
Good night, NYC.
